Description – I had been to Emerald Bay over 50 mornings attempting to leave with something unique from the overshot iconic Lake Tahoe feature. Finally, I woke up one morning and there was an inversion over the entire lake! I drove to Emerald Bay hoping for something spectacular. When I arrived, the inversion was too dense and close to my vantage. I could not see Fanette Island, but I set up my equipment and waited patiently in hopes it would back off. It started to recede! As the peak color of the sunrise started to swell the inversion backed off at the perfect moment, leaving quite the scene. After I finished shooting, I left finally satisfied with what I had witnessed and captured.
